All products are manufactured in Germany - at the company location Schesslitz – and this for a good reason: Today we get overwhelmed with cheap imports and the consumer ultimately has no chance to recognize what he buys. By purchasing from us, you are consciously opting for quality from Germany.

 

We also always strive not only to preach sustainability, but also to live! We keep our material purchasing as regional as possible and thus use almost exclusively local maple and beech wood from sustainable forestry. This helps to avoid long transport routes and secure jobs in the region.

PEFC - It's the origin that counts

PEFC is the largest institution to ensure sustainable forest management through an independent certification system. Wood and wood products bearing the PEFC seal are proven to come from ecologically, economically and socially sustainable forestry.


PEFC Deutschland was founded in 1999 and develops the standards and procedures of certification, provides information to the public and grants the rights to the PEFC logo in Germany. PEFC is the most important forest certification system in Germany: With 7.5 million hectares of certified forest area, around two-thirds of German forests are already PEFC-certified.

he company was founded in 1917 by the businessman Anton Schimmer in Tachau (today Czech Republic). They produced beads and woodcarving items made of wood and artificial horn, which were then sold all over the world. After the Second World War in 1945, all Germans were expropriated and expelled from the Sudetenland, as well as the family Schimmer.
